Course Description:
This two-module course provides participants with a basic understanding of continuous quality improvement (CQI) and provides guidance for leading quality improvement (QI) projects in public health departments. The course is delivered in an online, self-study format and takes approximately 1 hour to complete. Read on to learn more on how to complete the course and make the most of your learning.
Course Outline:
Module 1: Introduction & Concepts
- Define continuous quality improvement (CQI)
- Identify the benefits of CQI in public health departments
- List 5 key CQI concepts
Module 2: Leading Quality Improvement Projects
- List considerations when establishing a quality improvement project team
- Apply the 5 principles of improvement using a case example
- Describe the PDSA cycle for testing change
